Materials

Fabric is decided before a line is drawn.

A range is only as good as the cloth under it. We buy fabric ourselves rather than asking you to nominate a mill, and we tell you where each quality comes from.

A few of the qualities we run

What each is good for, and where it comes from. These are qualities we run, not a mill's catalogue.

Denim

We make denim garments across all three books.

Women’s jackets, skirts and jumpsuits, men’s jackets, overshirts and bottoms, and kids’ outerwear at a lighter weight. We work in a range of denim qualities and will tell you which one suits the make you are after.

Where it comes from

The supply base, named

A buyer who has been let down before wants to know whether the fabric risk sits an hour away or an ocean away.

  • Ludhiana

Knitting and dyeing partners — the knit base, and the mills we have used long enough to know which quality each of them actually holds.

  • Tirupur

Cotton knits and jersey at volume, where a knit programme goes when the quantity asks for it.

  • NCR — Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon

Dyeing and finishing, trims, embroidery and wash, all within a drive of this floor.

  • Surat

Texture fabrics, novelty and synthetic qualities. Fastest in the country on a trend.

  • Ahmedabad

Dyeing and processing; denim and bottomweight.

  • South and west India

Grey bought where the yarn is — Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Ichalkaranji — then dyed closer to us.

  • Bhilwara

    Suiting and polyester-viscose blends.

  • Panipat

    Heavier weaves and home-textile crossovers.

  • Jaipur, Bagru and Sanganer

Hand block print, bandhani and traditional surface work.

  • Amritsar and Kolkata

    Cotton wovens and regional qualities.

  • Direct import — China

Trend qualities and bottomweights where the handle is not made here. We say when that is the route, because it changes your calendar.

Most of it is a drive from this floor. That is the point — a fabric problem is a phone call and a visit, not a shipment.
